A Lap Around the Mono Project
Speaker: John Bristowe, Microsoft Canada
The Mono Project is an open development initiative sponsored by Novell to develop an open source, UNIX version of the Microsoft .NET development platform. Its objective is to enable UNIX developers to build and deploy cross-platform .NET applications. This session will provide a general overview of the Mono Project and will highlight some of its underlying components, libraries, and frameworks.
John Bristowe is a Developer Evangelist with Microsoft Canada and is based out of Calgary, Alberta. John has many years of experience developing software for operating systems such as the BeOS, variants of Linux and UNIX and, of course, Windows. He has also spent a great deal of time building Web and rich client applications. John is passionate about assisting the technical community in Canada and spends much of his time talking to students, teachers, and professionals in the industry.
